STEM and HSIs: What the Literature Tells Us About Hispanic Serving Institutions and STEM (Poster 1)

Thu, April 24, 8:00 to 9:30am MDT (8:00 to 9:30am MDT), The Colorado Convention Center, Floor: Exhibit Hall Level, Exhibit Hall F - Poster Session

Abstract

HSI advocates must continue to understand HSI transformations toward student equity, especially during higher education’s current technological revolution, led by the mass societal adoption of artificial intelligence. As a result, this systematic review provides insight as to how researchers have evaluated STEM programming regarding and within HSIs. Results suggest research has overemphasized student experiences within STEM programs, largely ignoring STEM student success, faculty issues, and administrative efforts to improve STEM outcomes.
