Abstract

Most Middle Eastern nations signed the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD) (UNCRPD; United Nations, 2006). However, despite continued work towards inclusion policies and practices, students with disabilities still face exclusion and segregation in the Middle East. Brodally, this study began by examining inclusive education in Middle Eastern countries and how inclusive education works in the educational system. Specifically, it focused on analyzing the case of Saudi Arabia as it is one of the largest countries in the Middle East, and has made significant strides in promoting inclusive education through policy changes and initiatives aimed at providing equal opportunities for all students, regardless of their abilities or backgrounds (Aldegether, 2020).
