Delivering Deeper Learning at Scale: A Systems Transformation Framework

Abstract

Learning how to achieve ambitious teaching and learning equitably at scale remains the key problem to solve in education. In this proposed roundtable, we will present an emerging framework focused on this problem. With the framework, developed with insights from 10 research-practice partnerships working to scale deeper learning, we seek to answer:
• How do we, as educators, researchers, school and system administrators, non-profit leaders, community organizers, and members of the general public, work together to realize fundamental improvements in instruction, spread them, and sustain them over time?
• And, how do we do it in ways that prioritize students who have historically lacked access to powerful learning opportunities and have not reached the ambitious outcomes we desire for everyone?
