Abstract

Generative AI has revolutionized various fields by enabling machines to produce human-like text, generate creative content, and assist in complex decision-making processes. Despite mixed perceptions regarding its usefulness and ethical challenges, the specific impact of Generative AI on job prospects in higher education remains underexplored. Researchers used multiple methods, including interviews with seven faculty members from various fields and a student survey, to explore perspectives on how AI may impact job prospects for students and within higher education. Most faculty believe that AI is assistive and that their jobs won't be replaced. Survey results show that students who are more aware of AI's limitations believe AI won't replace their future jobs.
