Abstract

Curriculum resources are important sources used in the teaching and learning of mathematics. The majority of research in this area narrowly focuses on official curriculum resources such as textbooks. However, students proactively employ curriculum resources beyond official textbooks, which should not go unexplored as curriculum resources offering learning opportunities. This is particularly important when considering the ever-expanding nature of shadow education and its effects on educational equity. The current study analyzed eight curriculum resources, including official, semi-official, and non-official sources. The resources that are currently used provide students with limited learning opportunities. Therefore, the curriculum resources used to increase their quality should be examined with the aim of enhancing students’ mathematical learning experiences both inside and outside of school.
