This study examines the motivations, experiences, and outcomes of marriage immigrant women (MIW) pursuing higher education in South Korea. Using a mixed methods design, we analyze survey data from 75 MIW and in-depth interviews with 10 MIW. Grounded in the life-course perspective, our research reveals that MIW's educational choices are influenced by societal structures and personal agency. MIW view higher education as a means to gain social recognition and improve their status. While education offers opportunities for self-development and integration, MIW face challenges like financial burdens, language barriers, and uniform academic standards that overlook their unique circumstances. This study contributes to understanding MIW's navigation of Korean higher education, offering insights for policy improvements to enhance their educational experiences and outcomes.
