Integrative Model of School and Out-of-School-Time Partnership (Poster 14)

Sun, April 27, 8:00 to 9:30am MDT (8:00 to 9:30am MDT), The Colorado Convention Center, Floor: Exhibit Hall Level, Exhibit Hall F - Poster Session

Abstract

Strong partnership models (e.g., intermediary organizations) between school districts and Out-of-school time (OST) programs (e.g., community-based organizations) are one key strategy that districts are implementing to reduce inequities in program access and experience (Adams-Bass et al., 2022). However, we lack an in-depth understanding of the practices that support these partnerships and how these partnerships achieve integration of support on a day-to-day basis. Thus, we use a scoping review of the literature and a pilot case study to explore the factors and practices that support partnerships in increasing access and opportunities for high-quality programming. This work extends the current literature base by identifying best practices for partnership and proposing a model of integration for school and OST partnerships.
