Abstract

Phenomenology has become a vital qualitative approach in education, enabling deep exploration of core elements of educational processes. Phemenolological approaches are particularly effective for exploring the voices of underrepresented populations. While transcendental phenomenology (TPh) is not a popular phenomenological research methodology, it has emerged effective after Moustakas' (1994) influential work. This paper outlines a descriptive technology-enhanced approach to TPh and its application in an empirical exploration of the needs of a group currently underrepresented in most engineering domains. It aims to enhance the depth and accuracy of TPh research, offering a comprehensive guide for phenomenological reduction and imaginative variation, utilizing tools for creative data analysis. This framework explores the "what" and the "how" of experiences, integrating them into fundamental essences.
