Cahuimapeando: Mapping Feminist Knowledge

Thu, April 24, 1:45 to 3:15pm MDT (1:45 to 3:15pm MDT), The Colorado Convention Center, Floor: Meeting Room Level, Room 712

Abstract

In this paper, we analyze a co-constructed map of gender knowledge addressing the question: How do we build and share collective, embodied knowledge on gender issues in diverse feminist spaces beyond academia? We present the methodology used to create cahuimapeando as virtual platform for digital co-mapping and share our findings. Drawing from feminist new materialisms and Indigenous decolonial thought, we examine the entangled nature of knowledge, bodies, and geographies. Our analysis highlights the tension between academic knowledge and its production, advocating for a pedagogical approach that shifts how knowledge is perceived and valued, promoting an inclusive and ethical understanding of feminist experiences.
