Sun, April 27, 8:00 to 9:30am MDT (8:00 to 9:30am MDT), The Colorado Convention Center, Floor: Ballroom Level, Four Seasons Ballroom 1

Abstract

The study explores the effects of different training formats for early childhood education and care (ECEC) teachers in Austria. The impending shortage of qualified ECEC teachers and increased demands on professional qualifications in the sector prompted the adoption of digital offerings in further education and training. The investigation compares the learning success of ECEC teachers participating in digital asynchronous training and in-person courses. Preliminary results demonstrate significant effects of all three training formats on knowledge outcomes. Notably, asynchronous training yields slightly better knowledge outcomes compared to in-person training. With a diverse dataset and comprehensive analyses to follow in April 2025, the study aims to provide vital insights for enhancing professional development in ECEC.
