Thu, April 24, 9:50 to 11:20am MDT (9:50 to 11:20am MDT), The Colorado Convention Center, Floor: Ballroom Level, Four Seasons Ballroom 1

Abstract

CLIL has been mainstreamed throughout compulsory education increasing the diversity of pupils practitioners need to address, which along with the reduced body of literature on attention to diversity in CLIL is hazarding its deployment. To respond to the diversity conundrum, this study encompassed under ADiBE (Attention to Diversity in Bilingual Education), attempts to qualitatively analyze students’ and teachers’ insights from 10 urban/rural Primary/Secondary schools across the Valencian Region on attention to diversity in CLIL, through the use of interview protocols. These qualitative results have been triangulated with the outputs collected in the statistical analysis of an observation protocol, carving out a clear picture of the deployment of attention to diversity in CLIL in a Spanish bilingual region.
