This research, embodying the concept of sankofa, explores the historical experiences of Black women educators as a source of resilience, remembrance, and resistance across the African diaspora. By prioritizing global Black histories and Black teaching practices, we aim to advance educational research that centers Black cultural and historical epistemologies. Our work engages Africana feminist perspectives to promote Black archival practices, challenging hegemonic narratives often missing the lived experiences of Black individuals and the educational movements of liberation in the US and Zimbabwean contexts. We seek to demonstrate the transformative potential of Black archives in shaping educational reform, guided by questions on the contributions of Black female teachers to global Black historical consciousness and visions of educational futures.
