The purpose of this paper is to propose a system for analyzing and synthesizing experiential learning. The theoretical framework is based on Husserl’s (1913/2006) work on the science of phenomenology, more specifically on his description of the role of the eidetic sciences. The emphasis in Husserl’s philosophy on a priori discovery through rational analysis offers an opportunity for investigating the role of experiential learning in an “artificial science” like education (Simon, 1996). In addition to describing the philosophical basis for developing systems of experience, an example system will be presented, as well as examples of its use in research analysis and the synthesis of new experiences.
