The aim of this research was to explore the online assessment tools as concepts of pre-service teacher assessment knowledge. Based on a sample of 3,780 trainee teachers enrolled in a teaching qualification course, this study demonstrated that the more trainee teachers already have teaching experience, the more they demonstrate positive attitudes but also aware of online assessment tools to be used in daily teaching practice. Furthermore, the analysis also demonstrated that trainee teachers are more likely to grasp the facilitation aspects, such as the possibility of processing a mass of data, and the ethical ones, such as the opportunity to clarify the criteria adopted. The proposal highlighted the importance of the different personal attitudes towards the online evaluation tools.
