Fri, April 25, 1:30 to 3:00pm MDT (1:30 to 3:00pm MDT), The Colorado Convention Center, Floor: Exhibit Hall Level, Exhibit Hall F - Poster Session

Abstract

This study examines how graduate students navigate generative AI in academic settings, addressing a critical gap in understanding technology adoption in higher education. We surveyed 499 graduate students at a top-tier Chinese university, employing the Technology Acceptance Model. Results reveal high perceived usefulness and ease of use of generative AI, with over two-thirds reporting daily use despite privacy concerns . Significant gender differences emerged, with male students showing higher acceptance and less concern about risks. Master's students demonstrated more proactive adoption compared to doctoral students. These findings offer valuable insights into the integration of AI in graduate education, highlighting the need for tailored implementation strategies and ethical guidelines to ensure responsible and equitable use of AI tools in academic contexts.
