This project explores how belonging is cultivated among staff, faculty, and lecturers in online undergraduate courses in the Faculty of Education. Given the positive links between belonging and outcomes like job satisfaction and student retention in on-campus settings, this study investigates whether similar dynamics can be achieved online. Using a collaborative, duo-ethnographic methodology, the research focuses on the experiences of faculty and staff, with plans for future studies on students. The study contributes to the literature by examining how solidarity and belonging can be fostered in online environments, highlighting the often overlooked role of staff, and showcasing duo-ethnography as an emerging method for understanding diverse professional identities.
