Abstract

Critical thinking is an increasingly important skill in this age of information overload. Particularly for the younger generation, the ability to think critically and reach a reasoned conclusion should be developed starting at an early stage of life. This paper aims to propose a processed-based framework based on learning progressions for critical thinking evaluation designed specifically for skills development in K-12 education. Importantly, the current framework serves as a foundation to inform future assessment design of this skill and, ultimately, to foster student critical thinking skills development and advancement.
