Thu, April 24, 5:25 to 6:55pm MDT (5:25 to 6:55pm MDT), The Colorado Convention Center, Floor: Ballroom Level, Four Seasons Ballroom 2-3

Abstract

PK-12 principals are crucial to academic success, second only to teachers. Recognizing their varied roles, principals must prioritize instructional leadership, especially in specialized areas like English Language Learners (ELs). Through a qualitative case study, this study investigated the experiences of 12 principals and how they support teachers in their work with EL students. Findings reveal a lack of formal EL training for both principals and teachers, highlighting the need for integrated professional learning.
