On the Borderlands: Experiences of Latinx Cultural Center Student Workers

Abstract

This paper calls attention to the experiences of Latina/o/x students working at university Latina/o/x cultural centers. It utilizes narrative inquiry and borderlands theory to highlight challenges and benefits involved in being a student worker in these spaces. Through one-on-one platicas with 31 current and former Latinx cultural center student workers, the findings shed light on these students’ experiences and urge the need for further exploration.
