Abstract

For a long time, the assessment of children's academic success has traditionally centered on academic performance, frequently overlooking an even more important outcome—well-being. There is now a growing consensus that fostering student well-being should be a central goal for scholars, educators and policymakers. Our aim is to describe the most prominent well-being models, identified using a systematic multi-step approach. We selected three general models and seven models in educational context and described definitions, theoretical framework, indicators and the interconnected relationships of each model. The goal of this presentation is to provide valuable insights for the field, aiding educators, scholars, and other constituents in selecting appropriate models to frame their research and develop interventions to foster students' well-being.
