Thu, April 24, 3:35 to 5:05pm MDT (3:35 to 5:05pm MDT), The Colorado Convention Center, Floor: Ballroom Level, Four Seasons Ballroom 4

Abstract

This study analyzes latent profiles of district human resource (HR) management strategies to understand their impact on teacher recruitment and retention. The research identifies how different HR approaches align with district characteristics by examining distinct management profiles. The findings revealed significant associations between recruitment and retention strategies and HR profiles. Variations in profile membership were found based on district size, state geographic region, and attrition rates. This research highlights the importance of deliberate HR practices, suggesting that districts facing high turnover may benefit from holistic retention strategies, while those struggling to attract talent could focus on financial incentives. These insights aim to guide policymakers and administrators in refining HR strategies and better decision-making for enhanced teacher workforce management.
