Thu, April 24, 8:00 to 9:30am MDT (8:00 to 9:30am MDT), The Colorado Convention Center, Floor: Meeting Room Level, Room 606

Abstract

This study examines the impact of peer networks on students' well-being within classroom environments. Drawing on data from over 14,000 students across 24 private schools in India, the analysis focuses on how economic backgrounds and demographic factors influence social integration and peer support. Additionally, the investigation explores the effects of limited peer networks on students' well-being, encompassing emotional, social, and academic dimensions. The findings highlight the crucial role of social networks in creating a supportive and inclusive learning atmosphere. Based on our findings, we posit that fostering student connections should be a central focus of equitable and effective education systems, ensuring that all students have the opportunity to thrive in classrooms.
