Abstract

The Technology Facilitated Chinese Language Teaching project aims at exploring the current field of Chinese language teaching facilitated by various technology tools in U.S. post-secondary education context. In this paper, the research team only reports data collected through a national online survey from post-secondary institutions including community colleges where Chinese language courses are offered. Results from the survey show decreasing trends in overall enrollment in Chinese courses with variations in different proficiency levels and types of Chinese courses. The survey results also reveal various degrees of technology support and generative AI integration in Chinese language teaching.
