Abstract

This study explores how out-of-class student engagement shapes the sense of belonging for undocumented students at Greenfield University, utilizing the UndocuCrit framework. Through semi-structured interviews and institutional document review, findings reveal that supportive networks and campus activities play a crucial role in fostering a sense of belonging. The study highlights the importance of motivation from faculty, staff, and peers, a welcoming campus atmosphere, and the creation of network through student organizations. These elements enhance the academic and personal development of undocumented students. The research underscores the need for institutions to promote out-of-class engagement and embrace intersectionality to fully support the undocumented student community, contributing to the broader understanding of UndocuCrit in higher education.
