This study explores educational inequality by examining the social networks within an educational research institute. The analysis highlights how informal networks facilitate collaboration, decision-making, and knowledge dissemination. Data from 62 staff members across 11 teams were analyzed, using centrality measures to map the institute’s social ecosystem. The findings indicate a diverse and inclusive environment with strong mentorship and collaboration, but also a need for more distributed leadership due to the over-reliance on central figures. Strategic insights suggest enhancing communication, collaboration, and governance by fostering new connections and implementing robust knowledge-sharing practices. This study provides valuable insights for creating sustainable, equitable, and impactful research environments, benefiting policymakers, educators, and researchers.
