Abstract

This study investigated the impact of a College Readiness course, which incorporated positive psychology principles and interventions, on the psychological well-being of Vietnamese college students. The research employed a convergent mixed methods design using a quasi-experimental approach. Psychological well-being scores were self-reported pre-intervention, post-intervention, and at the six-week follow-up. Focus group interviews were conducted with 11 experimental students. Quantitative analysis revealed significant increases in post-intervention and follow-up scores for the experimental group in all areas except negative emotion, while the control group showed no significant changes. Qualitative data provided further evidence of the course’s impact on specific areas of psychological well-being. These findings suggest that the course positively impacted the psychological well-being of first-year college students in Vietnam.
