This study investigated Asian and Asian American college students’ use of career resources and their associations with career motivation in computer science. Data were collected from 293 college students at a large southeastern U.S. university via an online survey. The resources that were reported both as most used and as most helpful were internet/social media, academic advisors, career centers, and career fairs. However, talking to academic advisors had a more negative effect on Asian students’ motivation, while attending career fairs had a more positive effect on students’ motivation, compared to non-Asian students. These results highlight the need for equitable career resources that better reflect the unique experiences of Asian students and support their career navigation and motivation in STEM fields.
