Known challenges exist in computer science education, and the erasure of African and Indigenous people of color in the computing research paradigm motivated six faculty of color and three students of color to counter and protest the existing widely used computer science framework to create the Ancestral Computing for Sustainability (ACS) network. The primary goal of this project is to research the incorporation of ancestral knowledge systems (AKS) as disciplines that co-create positive learning ecologies for marginalized communities, especially women of color, towards sustainable computing.
