Thu, April 24, 3:35 to 5:05pm MDT (3:35 to 5:05pm MDT), The Colorado Convention Center, Floor: Ballroom Level, Four Seasons Ballroom 1

Abstract

[College] is a small residential college within [University] that received a grant for the [Program] in 2009. The [Program] supported participants from their second to fourth year with financial aid, peer support, and career development guidance. This approach helped close inequitable outcomes in STEM retention, particularly for students with high financial need or low pre-college math preparation. Student interviews revealed the program's significant impact in helping students understand academic and professional systems while fostering social cohesion. These findings offer insights for STEM retention programs to address student needs effectively, combining financial support with academic and professional development to create a supportive environment conducive to student success.
