Sat, April 26, 9:50 to 11:20am MDT (9:50 to 11:20am MDT), The Colorado Convention Center, Floor: Meeting Room Level, Room 402

Abstract

Sharing knowledge not only within, but also across organizations has proven to be beneficial. While external knowledge is widespread in the technical domain, there has been little research in the domain of human resource management (HRM) apart from a few studies. Nevertheless, it is important to highlight the benefits of strengthening an external ecosystem in HRM. This study aims to investigate peer-to-peer knowledge sharing with HR employees of two different software companies. A mixed-method study was conducted from May to July 2024 with 24 participants part of a 10-week peer learning program. The results of our study contribute to empirical research gaps on external knowledge sharing in HRM by reporting the role and magnitude of person-level and situational-level variables together.
