Abstract

This study explores the impact of bilingual digital learning companions program on junior high school learners' social engagement and language acquisition in Taiwan. Through a mixed-methods approach, we examined how the program, with the tutors’ use of online platforms and resources, helped participants engage socially and improve vocabulary acquisition through oral interactions. Our findings indicated significant improvements in social engagement and English vocabulary. This study contributes to the understanding of digital tools in language education and their role in achieving Sustainable Development Goals related to quality education and reducing educational disparities.
