Efficacy of Online and Technology-Based Delivery of Positive Parenting Interventions: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis

Sat, April 26, 3:20 to 4:50pm MDT (3:20 to 4:50pm MDT), The Colorado Convention Center, Floor: Ballroom Level, Four Seasons Ballroom 1

Abstract

The project aims to review the effectiveness of online and technology-based parenting interventions that counsel parents on positive parenting practices, including emotional and cognitive responsivity and positive behavioural guidance. By analyzing studies conducted between 2000 and 2024, the review addresses key research questions about these interventions' content, outcomes, and effectiveness, considering family and intervention characteristics as potential moderators. This study seeks to overcome barriers associated with traditional in-person interventions—such as logistical, psychological, and social challenges—by providing flexible, accessible, and scalable solutions. The findings will offer a comprehensive synthesis of evidence to inform the design and implementation of future parenting programs, ultimately enhancing family well-being and children's developmental outcomes.
