Abstract

This study examines the link between friendship quality, personality traits, and happiness among mobile gamers. It investigates diverse friendship development paths and their association with personality traits and happiness. Online communication tools are commonly used for player interactions. Real-life friendships and those formed online have similar positive emotional value. Happiness levels do not differ based on the type of friendship. Higher intimacy with gaming friends correlates with greater perceived happiness. Players with high extraversion and agreeableness show better friendship quality, though agreeableness has a moderate effect. These findings shed light on the personality traits, friendship patterns, and friendship quality's impact on the overall happiness of mobile gamers.
