COVID-19 disrupted global education systems and forced swift transitions to online across education institutions, including in higher education. However, institutional leaders, especially in resource-challenged settings, found they were resource-constrained when attempting to efficiently implement e-learning. Supported by a major foundation grant, educators from universities in Africa and the United States designed a resilient, inclusive e-learning initiative across ten institutions in Africa, the Middle East, and Central America.
This proposal evaluates the initiative's effectiveness, revealing continued education during the pandemic and providing actionable insights to enhance e-learning programs, emphasizing justice and equity in educational renewal. Our findings highlight an impact on students and faculty, addressing successes and ongoing challenges, and propose strategies to advance equitable education through improved e-learning frameworks.
