Abstract

This study aims to explore how a Saudi family living temporarily in the United States manages the Arabic literacy education of their child through homeschooling. The research employs a qualitative case study approach. Data collection includes approximately 14 hours of video recordings, an interview, as well as artifacts like the child's written work. Thematic analysis was used to identify patterns and themes related to teaching strategies, literacy activities, and the family's perspectives on language development. The results reveal a structured and immersive approach to homeschooling, with a strong emphasis on maintaining Arabic proficiency and literacy learning. The father's customized lessons, use of supplementary materials, and positive reinforcement strategies significantly contributed to the child's comprehensive language and literacy development.
