Abstract

Since its inception, migrants have played a significant role in the United States. The migrant workforce is an active labor serving several industries, including education. Immigrant educators play a substantial role in addressing teacher shortages and addressing the diversity gap. However, there is a huge gap in research that uncovers the beliefs of migrant educators in teacher education programs The data analysis suggests that there exists an array of challenges when it comes to performing their ‘role' as teacher educators. This calls for effective policies and practices supporting foreign higher education educators and adopting institutional practices regarding hiring and retaining foreign educators in post-secondary institutions.
