We report on progress of the Critical Action Learning Exchange (CALE), an international professional learning community for critical educators. We detail a recent innovation called CALEx, a multimodal encounter for teachers to share their experiences with Critical Action Learning, showcase successful classroom implementations, celebrate the community's progress, and reflect on their own problems of practice. We employed Design-Based Implementation Research methods (DBIR; Penuel & Potvin, 2021) to support our analysis of the CALEx design, implementation and outcomes. Specifically, we present outcomes from a community of teachers in southern China, culminating in a face-to-face expo held in June 2024, with the participation of 50 local teachers.
