Abstract

This paper systematically reviews the portrayal of the practice turn in leadership over 20 years, analyzing 33 studies. It identifies four perspectives: practice architecture, distributed practice, leadership practices, and leadership as practice. The study assesses conceptualizations, methodologies, and research gaps, emphasizing the need for innovative empirical methods to explore the dynamic relationship between leadership practices and education policy.
