Abstract

Abstract: This paper examines the relationship between academic identity, racial identity, and academic performance among African-American undergraduate women. Utilizing the Multidimensional Model of Racial Identity (MMRI) and perspectives from sociocultural and psychological frameworks, the study explores how these identities influence academic outcomes. Through surveys measuring racial and academic identity, the study aims to understand how these intersecting identities impact GPA and self-efficacy. The results highlight the significance of a strong academic identity and inclusive environments in fostering educational success for African-American women.
