Abstract

Inspirational teaching significantly enhances educational quality by guiding students beyond mere knowledge transmission. Despite its critical role, it remains under-researched, particularly lacking empirical clarity on its defining characteristics. Using the PRISMA 2020 framework, this study systematically reviews literature that assesses traits of inspirational teaching. We conducted a comprehensive search across nine databases, identifying 323 papers, with 18 included in the final analysis. Five key themes emerged: fostering positive relationships, passion and enthusiasm, effective methods, encouragement and support, and creating a positive learning environment. This research underscores the necessity for further investigation to inform educational policies and practices, aiming to integrate inspirational elements into traditional instructional quality frameworks to better support student success.
