Examining Interrelations Between Multiple Psychosocial Factors and Student Success

Thu, April 24, 5:25 to 6:55pm MDT (5:25 to 6:55pm MDT), The Colorado Convention Center, Floor: Ballroom Level, Four Seasons Ballroom 2-3

Abstract

Most definitions of student success have subjective undertone that make it almost impossible to have a universal understanding. Student success is a complex concept that makes it complicated to identify the influential predictors. In literature, scholars discussed many predictors of student success. However, little is known about how psychosocial factors (social engagement, sense of belonging and mental health) collectively impact graduate students’ success. This study sought to investigate how three psychosocial variables predict students’ success. The findings of this study would provide key information to administrators, policy makers, educationists, parents and stakeholders to promote students’ social and mental engagement and student success.
