Abstract

This qualitative project is part of a multi-year investigation of the Jeanes Supervisors of Florida (JSF) bringing together multiple disciplines to the study of Black women educators who worked in the South from 1911 - 1960. The current project is part of year 2 activities wherein a Black/endarkened womanist historical archaeology will be advanced to collect and analyze historical archival data related to the Jeanes Supervisors Florida-based operations, and to the Black women educators who served Florida in this role. The purpose of this project is to excavate a culture-centered model for school-based family and community engagement for immediate use by school-based family and community engagement practitioners.
