Abstract

Perspectives from organizational change research suggest that achieving sustained equitable outcomes in computing will result from greater focus on transforming the structures and cultures within institutions that create barriers for minoritized student success. Our study documents how a large-scale alliance of HSIs has developed humanizing approaches that integrate cultural responsiveness into computer science education. As the NETWORK grows to over 80 member organizations at the departmental level, new members learn the values, mindset and practices of more senior member organizations. This study measures organizational differences between old timers and new comers in enacting structures for serving students at the departmental level.
