Abstract

Technology-integrated interventions are increasingly utilized to enhance reading skills among students with learning difficulties (LD). Numerous meta-analyses have assessed the impact of technology-based interventions. Given the rapid evolution in technology, it's crucial to regularly review recent studies to understand their implementation in boosting the reading skills of students performing below their peers. Literacy skills developed during the elementary years (K-4) are crucial for reading success from early grades through high school. This meta-analysis examines the efficacy of technology-integrated reading interventions for K-4 students with LD. We included seven studies that met our criteria, finding that these interventions moderately improve reading comprehension (g=0.33). The findings are discussed in terms of practical applications of technology to enhance reading comprehension in early elementary education.
