Fri, April 25, 11:40am to 1:10pm MDT (11:40am to 1:10pm MDT), The Colorado Convention Center, Floor: Terrace Level, Bluebird Ballroom Room 2G

Abstract

This study examines the pervasive bullying, exclusion, and microaggressions Black Women Teachers (BWTs) face from white female colleagues in K-12 schools. Through qualitative analysis, this research highlights the urgent need for comprehensive policies of accountability that prioritize creating supportive professional environments for BWT. Findings reveal how normalized racial and gender biases disrupt BWTs' contributions and professional growth. This study calls for immediate action to dismantle these barriers, promoting equity and respect in educational settings.
