Thu, April 24, 9:50 to 11:20am MDT (9:50 to 11:20am MDT), The Colorado Convention Center, Floor: Ballroom Level, Four Seasons Ballroom 2-3

Abstract

This narrative utilizes Scholarly Personal Narrative (SPN) methodology to emphasize the significance of building relationships and fostering a culture of communication and care within and between local and higher education communities. Through dual roles as a Site Council member for a P-12 school district and a Program/Project Coordinator at a university, the narrative illustrates how these positions have contributed to strengthening existing collaborations and inspired new partnerships, promoting innovative educational solutions. The integration of Relational-Cultural Theory (RCT) provides a framework for understanding the development of mutual empathy and empowerment, highlighting the impact of these relationships on enhancing educational experiences and supporting teacher candidates and students in both P-12 and higher education settings.
