Challenging Educational Gag Order Laws: Critical Race Feminista Methodology Perspective on Educational Laws and Policies

Abstract

This critical qualitative study aims to analyze the legal implication of educational gag order laws enacted in Florida and Texas, alongside the policies and practices adopted by their public postsecondary institutions. Guided by the theoretical and methodological implications of Critical Race Feminista Methodology the study will offer a comprehensive examination of how these laws and policies impact the bodies, minds, and spirits of Black, Indigenous, and more communities of Color, revealing deeper systemic issues of racism and white supremacy. Ultimately, offerings strategies for teaching, researching, and conducting service under restrictive legislative environments and calling on institutions to fight back against these laws.
