The Education Journal (pseudonym) has a long history of publishing rigorous and influential educational research. In this paper, we report on a study the Journal undertook of manuscripts accepted for publication between 2015 and 2020. By examining author and article characteristics over this period, we sought to better understand how our published research contributes to our Journal’s stated aims and overall scholarly impact. For each published manuscript, we collected data points such as author seniority, institutional affiliation, country, and research topic and context. Findings revealed that professors affiliated with research universities in the Global North still dominate discussions of education in the Journal, challenging us to expand our efforts to attract more diverse submissions to the Journal.
