Abstract

Abstract

This study examines the University of Florida's (UF) pioneering efforts in becoming America's first AI university. Using a qualitative case study approach, we analyzed UF's strategies through document analysis, archival records, and online platform exploration. Findings reveal UF's success is built on five pillars: comprehensive curriculum design, in-depth faculty development, research innovation support, industry collaboration, and career-oriented preparation. UF's approach includes a seamless educational pathway from introductory courses to advanced degrees, faculty training initiatives, research funding programs, partnerships with tech giants like NVIDIA and IBM, and specialized career services. This study contributes to understanding effective AI integration in higher education, offering insights for institutions seeking to enhance their AI education programs and prepare students for an AI-driven future.
