“Come to the Latino Diner”: Reframing Accountability and Answerability in University-School-Community Relationships

Fri, April 25, 11:40am to 1:10pm MDT (11:40am to 1:10pm MDT), The Colorado Convention Center, Floor: Ballroom Level, Four Seasons Ballroom 2-3

Abstract

This collaborative applied research investigates how teacher education faculty in an urban-serving university in the midwest forge relationships with/between Latinx community stakeholders by foregrounding authentic collaboration and reciprocity. Specifically, community members and university researchers engaged in a shared inquiry into community cultural wealth (Yosso, 2005), funds of knowledge (Moll, et al., 1992) and resources, and subsequently participated in collective analysis and evaluation of program assignments, learning experiences, and procedures.
